Treats and Goodbyes

Today is the girls' last day at "Ms. Michelle's School".  The girls both really love it there and I have some Mom-Guilt about moving them to the Amazing Campus Program that Just. Won't. Go. Away.   So, to commemorate their last day (and because I recognize fabulous-ness when I see it), we decided to make Tie-dye Cookies!

Everyone was excited to get started.

Punkin' looking to start a little mischief

My two little helpers

We started with Bree's favorite sugar cookie dough and made the full recipe because I'm Italian and its always better to have too much than too little.  ;)

We were good girls and followed directions... measure, level, pour...

Its not a "family-fun activity" until Punkin' starts crying
(taking turns really *is* hard!)

Thankfully, Bunny can always be counted on to add a little levity to the situation

Still following directions, like good little girls, we separated the dough in to 5 bowls, adding a different color to each.

OOOOO.... pretty colors!

Then we took different sized blobs, put them in a vaguely-tubeish shape on waxed paper (no parchment in the house) and made this bad boy!

Woah!  That's like, psychedelic man.

Then we chilled, we sliced and we baked.  And we got some totally groovy cookies!

I bagged them up, with some tags that the girls had made and sent them off this morning with this beautiful girl.  (Bunny wasn't feeling well last night so she's missing out on all the last-day excitement)

For the next month, its just us girls hanging out...
Mommy is looking forward to spending time with her girls!

**  Props to Papa, our in-house photographer

We had a blast! The cookies were super yum, too.... I see why that's your favorite sugar cookie recipe. :)
